The Walt Disney Studios Courtyard is undergoing a major renovation, with concrete forms being assembled near the center and walkways poured around the Disney Jr. building. A temporary tent has been set up near the bottom right, adding a touch of whimsy to the construction site.
In front of the Disney Jr. Building, fresh concrete has been poured on either side, creating a smooth and inviting space. The building will soon host Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!, a special experience that will debut early for Cool Kids' Summer (https://wdwnt.com/2026/01/walt-disney-world-cool-kids-summer-dates-released-full-offerings/).
The central courtyard is a bustling hub of activity, filled with forms and dirt work. This area will become a garden oasis with trees providing shade and comfortable seating areas, creating a peaceful retreat for visitors.
The Disney Jr. building is at the bottom, The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure building is at the top, and what was Star Wars Launch Bay is on the right. This space was previously home to the park's active production studios, where classics like Lilo & Stitch were created. It later housed the Magic of Disney Animation before being transformed into Star Wars Launch Bay in 2015.
The full experience will return in 2026 as a 'place where kids and kids at heart can laugh, draw, dream, and explore animated new experiences.' The attraction will feature a Mickey's Sorcerer Hat facade, similar to the Roy E. Disney Animation Building in Burbank, California, and a reimagined interior inspired by the Disney Animation headquarters. The Animation Courtyard has been closed since September to make way for these exciting new attractions, except for The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure (https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/entertainment/hollywood-studios/little-mermaid-musical-adventure/).
